OK, I think I am getting nearer and nearer the point where I just give up and admit defeat. I just don't get it anymore. I am dumbfounded, dismayed, discombobulated, at a loss, baffled, nonplussed, and totally frustrated.
It has been bad enough watching people whom I thought would know better, supporting a guy whom research easily shows is not at all what they hope he is. People who have advocated for the Constitution, smaller government, personal liberty, and the like. Yeah, yeah, I know, we're all frustrated and angry and we like a guy who "speaks his mind," I get it, but at some point you have to move beyond the immediate gratification of "poking the establishment" and look to the future and how our nation will be governed.
Now comes Ben Carson, another candidate who showed he did not understand our Constitution, and his endorsement of Trump. Again, I understand why people liked Carson; He is a "nice guy," he speaks softly amid the din, and he talks about his religion a lot. Fine, I get it. But if you ever bothered to listen to him you quickly realized that he needed a remedial course on the Constitution and how a constitutional republic works.
Any way, moving on to my actual point here. Now I see the same Trump supporters who have caused me much confusion, jumping for joy at Carson's endorsement and......here it is......stating that they hope that Trump will name Carson his Surgeon General. Got it? You with me so far? Let that sink in a little. We need to get back to the Constitution, we need to reduce the size and scope of the federal leviathan, we need to reduce government spending, etc., etc. Remember all that from previous campaigns?
OK, now I know this is going to piss some people off but,
WE DO NOT NEED A SURGEON GENERAL!!!!! THE POSITION SHOULD NOT EVEN EXIST! STOP IT, JUST STOP IT!
You can't call for less government on the one hand and then turn around and hope to fill an unconstitutional position in the next breath. GAHHHH!!!!
I need to go hit something.
