Among the many incredibly stupid things people say, when you challenge their world view on vaccines, is - "Well, where did you get your medical degree?" The vacuousness and ignorance of that statement says a great deal about the person uttering it.
Hey, super-geniuses, news flash, I CAN READ! Did you know that you can access numerous medical journals and reports on this new thing called the Interwebs? I am not a lawyer either, but I can read and comprehend the English language. I have read the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and many of our Founding documents and the writings of our Founding Fathers.
I have never played hockey in the NHL, but I have studied the game, as well as playing it, and I have a pretty good understanding of the game. Enough so that I feel comfortable speaking on the subject. I never played in the NFL, but I have played and studied the game of football, enough to be able to speak intelligently on that subject. I am not an electrician, but I know enough about electricity to understand the dangers and benefits of it.
One of the smartest men I know has never been to medical school, but he has voraciously read and educated himself on diseases, how they spread, what they do, and how to treat them (BB). And frankly I trust his opinion more than most doctors, because he has no ulterior motive (profits) when giving advise. I have learned more about history since leaving school than I ever learned in school, because I can READ and I continue to educate myself.
You see, you don't have to be a doctor or a scientist or a research analyst in order to ask questions and challenge narratives. You simply have to have some commonsense and be able to read what has been written on the subject.
